Help! I've unplugged everything and its not working!

Don't worry - this happens more than you'd think. In some installations, we have a little transformer that plugs into the router - the little white box. We also have a little black power block powering the antenna on the outside of your property.

And in some installations, instead of a wee transformer for the the little white box, we use two little black power blocks.

There is no difference between these two installations - both work equally well.

If you have ONE little black power block

Check that the LED's are green on the white router box. If not, check that the white router box is plugged in, and the transformer plugged in at the wall.

If the LED's are on at the little white router box, but your internet still doesn't work, check that:

  • the black cable coming from outside is plugged into the PoE socket on the little black power block,
  • that there is a cable from the LAN port on the little black power block to the back of the little white router box (and plugged into port number 1),
  • and that the little black power block is plugged into the mains.

If its plugged in, then the LED on the little black power block should be lit. It should look a little like this:

If all this is correct, and the LED's are showing on the little power block and on the little white router - and you still don't have internet - get in touch with us and we'll figure out how to fix it.

If you have TWO little black power blocks

Check that

  • the black cable coming from outside is plugged into the PoE socket on the other little black power block, (the left hand blue cable below)
  • There is a cable running from Port 1 on the little white router box to a PoE socket on a little black power block, (the right hand blue cable below)
  • There is a cable plugged into the LAN socket on one little power block to the LAN port on the other little black power block, (the red cable below)
  • Both power blocks are plugged into the mains and that LEDs are lit on both,
  • The LED's are lit on the little white router box

If all this is correct, and the LED's are showing on the little power blocks and on the little white router - and you still don't have internet - get in touch with us and we'll figure out how to fix it.

My Siemens Gigaset Handsets are saying 'Unable to Register'

This happens when the Siemens Gigaset box (the wee grey one with the red LED) cannot properly converse with its target servers. This usually happens because our routers will routinely inhibit this conversation as part of its normal firewall activities.

If this happens to you, get in touch and we'll flip that particular switch for you.
