Fibre to the Premises is coming:
Register your interest now!

We are Marykirk.com - a rural Internet service provider, providing service to Aberdeenshire and Angus, since 2013. We cover 800+ properties, over 400 square miles.

We are excited to offer properties in our area the opportunity to show your interest for Fibre to the Premises - offering up to 1,000Mb internet connections. Fibre to the premises is where you have a dedicated fibre cable to your property. No copper is involved.

In order to proceed, we’d like your expression - are you interested in Fibre to the Premises? We’re not asking you to sign any contracts or commitments, we’re just asking for you to say whether or not you are interested.

Update

As of the afternoon of Monday 17th July, we’ve had 70 expressions of interest, 14 people who can be installed, 4 ordered, and one being installed on Friday. Not bad for the first 5 days of the new project!

Yes, I’m interested!

  • I understand that this is just an expression of interest - there is no commitment at this time.

  • If you have multiple properties, you have to sign up for each one individually.

  • I have read all the items on this page and understand the packages, costs, etc, that are on offer.

  • You’ll be asked later to choose (and pay for) a package - see below.

  • Please don’t apply more than once per household!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What happens?

    • OpenReach install your fibre.

    • A Marykirk.com engineer will aim to be there during or soon after the install with your new router - to plug in and test your new connection.

  • What do you do to our property?

    • OpenReach get the fibre to their nearest Node outside of your property.

    • This is then typically terminated in a small enclosure on the outside of your property

    • A fibre is run from here to where you want the router to go - within reason (there must be a relatively straight-forward route for the cable to follow - they don’t have unlimited time to dig around under floors and behind walls etc)

    • An Optical Network Terminal (ONT) will be mounted on the wall and the fibre will terminate here - this is basically a modem that will interface between your router and the fibre network

    • We’ll need two power sockets - one for our router, and one for the ONT

  • Phone Line

    • We don’t need or use a phone line. So there’s no ‘hidden’ line rental charge

    • If you want to retain your old landline number etc, or install a new digital phone line (VOIP), please let us know when you place your enquiry
